"Now I Still Say Goodnight to Him" — Lily & Max’s Story
Partager
Grief doesn’t disappear. But sometimes, it can take on a softer shape.
When Lily lost her dog Max after 14 beautiful years together, she wasn’t ready for a goodbye. Every night, she found herself still whispering, "Goodnight, Max," to the empty corner of the room.
Months later, Lily discovered Lulatail.
She sent us a photo of Max lying on his side with his tail curled just so—a position he often rested in after long walks. She told us about his favorite toy (a rabbit), his coffee-brown eyes, and the one white patch above his left paw.
We took every detail into account. His relaxed posture, the soft wave of his fur, and the gentle way he seemed to smile even in sleep. And we quietly worked it into wool.
When Lily received the full-body figurine, she cried. “But in a good way,” she wrote. “It feels like Max is home again.”
She keeps the piece on her bedside table.
"Now I still say goodnight to him every night. But this time, he's here."
